Veterinay Medical Manipulation (VMM) or Chiropractic involves manipulation and adjustment of the spine and other joints in animals and is performed by a trained and certified veterinarian. The health of cartilage, muscles, and nerves are dependent upon normal motion. If a joint becomes restricted in its motion, this will result in abnormal mobility which leads to muscle tension, pain, weakened muscles, abnormal gait, reduced function and decreased performance. VMM or Chiropractic involves very specific and gentle manipulations that work only within the normal range of motion of the joint. Animals accept this treatment well and resolution of the restriction often results in immediate relief from pain.

Conditions that respond well to VMM or Chiropractic include:

  • Lameness without a structural cause
  • Back and neck pain
  • Decreased performance
  • Arthritis
  • Geriatric animals – to maintain function and mobility

Acupuncture and Chiropractic work very well together and give excellent results These treatment modalities often work synergistically for a faster and more powerful result.
